This year’s wedding season wrapped up with one of the most beautiful fall days in northeast Iowa. From their farm, to the church, the overlook, and the reception… it was a day of love adventure and so much beauty!
When the bride, Jessie reached out to me about documenting their day, I was elated. I had actually photographed her relative’s wedding the year before and knowing she came to me for her own wedding made my heart smile! There is seriously nothing like the referral from friends and family! Before I go any further I just have to say, not only was this couple absolutely gorgeous with a stunning wedding party and party bus packed full of the most beautiful/fun/hilarious friends — they were all so incredibly kind and a joy to be around.
We started the day by taking detail images at their gorgeous stone home on their family farm while the bridal party finished up with hair and makeup by The Beauty Bar (this team always does such an amazing job!). I always love finding a cool spot for the dress photo and rings. Would you believe I was able to balance their rings on the stone wall of the home! It is so fun to get those details shots that help tell the whole story.
Once ready, Tony waited for Jessie to walk along the edge of the cornfield toward him for their first look - those steps were breathtaking and so sweet to see the joy on her face. After taking their portraits around the farm we used the hay stall for an unconventional - but super cool -backdrop for family formals. Y’all it was so cute!
After finishing up at the farm it was time to head to the church. St Mary’s has the most gorgeous stained glass and epic cathedral ceilings. My favorite part of the ceremony was watching the couple walk to the center of the aisle and be prayed over by their loved ones. Prayer is so powerful and I hope they always look back at that image and know how much they’re loved and supported. At the end of the ceremony the couple greeted all of their guests before jumping onto the party bus (and let me tell you it was a party!).
On the way to the reception we stopped by an amazing overlook for a few more epic sunlit photos. Arriving at the Milestone Event Center I was instantly in awe of this new-to-me-venue. It was massive, stylish, modern, and comfortable. The space is literally perfect and the food was incredible.
From every thoughtful moment this day flowed from one moment into the next and you could see feel the love and thoughtfulness Jessie and Tony put into every detail of their amazing celebration!
If I were to sum up this wedding in three words it would be Faith Love and Family, but enough words, let me show you some of my favorite images from their beautiful day!
