Gustafson Wedding | A magical event under the moon and stars at Barn On Heron Hill

On a gorgeous fall evening, under a moonlit sky, Megan and Dayne became Mr. and Mrs. Gustafson at Barn On Heron Hill in northeast Iowa! It was magical!

I don’t even know where to start with this post, because y’all this wedding left me speechless. It was absolute perfection!

Megan and Dayne reserved the Barn on Heron Hill for their rustic chic venue. They knew they wanted to be married after dark, surrounded by the glow of twinkly lights, the stars, and love. We arrived as the bride and groom were putting on final touches, and documented their details and the venue before the first look. The Bride and Groom chose to have a first look which worked out perfectly since the ceremony would be after dark. I loved how the first look gave them some alone time during the hustle and bustle of the wedding day. When they walked toward the front of the beautiful old farmhouse to rejoin their wedding party it was all cheers!

After portraits, the guests gathered for cocktail hour and hor’dourves in the barn, as the sunset for their ceremony. The wooden pews filled with guests and the wedding party entered with twinkly bouquets. As the Bride entered on her father’s arm and walked down the moonlit aisle the groom didn’t hold back the tears. It was such a heartfelt ceremony. One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was when Megan and Dayne went back up the aisle to usher out each of their guests with a hug or handshake.. leaving them alone for their very last portrait under the stars before heading into their reception.

Their barn reception was so fun, the wedding party entered with some hilarious antics, the speeches were precious, and the first dance was beautiful! The guests enjoyed hot hor’dourves by Johnsons Reception Hall and decadent cupcakes by the local favorite Cakes by Glenda. The music turned up and the lights turned down and this crew partied into the night!

From the venue, to the details, the wedding party, the moonlit ceremony, the reception, the food, and of course the exquisite Bride and Groom… the Gustafson wedding was a fairytale!
