The Osman Wedding | March 4th, 2023

From the minute I stepped into The Barn I could feel the excitement, the rush, the readiness for Taj and Steph’s wedding day. These two have been in love for years and on a cool Saturday in March they made it official! The Barn was cozy and filled with friends and loved ones from all over… and the day was absolute magic!

Their wedding took place from start to finish at The Barn in Prairie du Chien, with lovely getting ready areas for the wedding party, gorgeous backdrops for portraits, dramatic window lighting for their indoor ceremony, table décor, and delicious catering - the venue was perfect! Taj was with the guys getting ready, while Steph enjoyed time with her best friends, her sister, and her sweet mama, who is the owner and artist at A Little of the Top Hair Salon in Elkader. (She’s amazing, too!) After getting ready we stepped out into the natural light and landscape. With a first look and most of the portraits before their ceremony, the bride and groom specifically wanted to focus on candid images throughout their day. It was important for them to let their guests enjoy every minute of their party, and it showed in every detail!

From getting ready, to the first look, to walking down the aisle, the emotion was beautiful. The energy of the whole day was fun, sweet, and exciting. While weddings are a serious occasion, the “flower boys” knew how to keep it light and funny with quite the show! I burst out laughing, too! From laughter to tears, there were no dry eyes the minute Steph stepped into view of her groom. It really goes to show that even the toughest room, even with comic relief, even with a first look, emotion on that level isn’t gonna be held in! And, I’m all for it! Whether they’re beaming with joy or wiping tears, I love all the wedding day feels!

After dinner, the couple opened up the dance floor with their first dance, a beautiful mother daughter dance, and a classic mother son dance. Mingling, dancing, laughing, cocktails and CAKE were all enjoyed throughout the night! It was such a great day and I was so honored to document their love story!
