Today - Saturday, March 13th, 2021, we celebrated the opening day of The Collective during Ladies’ Day Out in Elkader, Iowa …
and it was AWESOME!
It was a day of transition for the space that was previously G’s Closet and Gallery. We are so fortunate to have Sally and Steve’s support as they closed out the clothing today and help us transition into The Collective - a member managed space where several professional artists and local businesses are working together. Artist Andrea Adams hosted a handmade card workshop for anyone who wanted to participate in our Classroom on opening day. Rabecca Jayne Hennessey did a live painting in the window that was part of the drawing giveaway along with a pair of Ara Kuennen’s earrings and a hand-painted journal by yours truly - JWebbArt.
We had a fantastic turn out, met people from all over northeast Iowa, sold lots of artwork, and enjoyed seeing so many smiling eyes! We are looking forward to a a beautiful adventure at The Collective and hope you’ll follow along with us on social media and stop in during regular business hours to see us at work!

On a typical day you’ll find one of The Collective members running the gallery space, but for this grand event several of our member artists were present to talk about their artwork. It was great to meet so many of our amazing community members who came out to see the new gallery and support our new business. We hope this will be a fun inspiring space for the whole community.
Thank you to The Elkader Chamber of Commerce for welcoming our new business to Elkader and for putting on a fantastic Ladies’ Day Out!
