From Elkader, to Elgin, to West Union, this Northeast Iowa Wedding was a day to Remember!

MORGAN + TRAVIS

Saturday, May 4th, 2024, was the most perfect day — the day Travis and Morgan became Mr. and Mrs. Prier! Even though we woke up to a full-blown downpour, no one seemed phased in the slightest. If anything, the morning rain soothed and brought a cool calming energy to the wedding party and to all who stayed and prepared for the day at the gorgeous Barn on the Bluff Bed and Breakfast.

We arrived a little early to get situated and to select the perfect locations around the property for their first look and portraits. Heading inside the big and beautiful barn, we greeted the couple and dove right into detail shots and images of the wedding party relaxing with their final touches of hair, makeup, and getting ready. The maid of honor, the Bride’s sister, helped Morgan into her dress, and Morgan put on her final pieces of jewelry; the couple was ready for their first look! Not only did they plan a first look with the groom, but also with Morgan’s two little brothers, which was one of the sweetest moments of the day! This whole day was filled with surprises and huge smiles, pure joy between all!

Next we walked around the beautiful property for portraits. There were lots of laughs, sweet cuddles, and a row of horses watching over us in the distance… it was stunning! The family gathered for formals in front of the rolling hills and we didn’t need to use any of the clear umbrellas I had brought along just in case. As we wrapped up our time at the Barn on the Bluff, the couple and their wedding party loaded onto a large white RV (that looked like it was made to be a wedding party bus) and made their way to the ceremony in Elgin. Down a curvy gravel road in the country, guests arrived at one of the most beautiful tucked-away ceremony sites, Beulahland Christian Camp. The ceremony overlooked a pond, and the couple stood in front of the arch that Travis and his friends helped make from rustic logs. I loved how Morgan and Travis started their ceremony with a game of "rock, paper, scissors" to decide who would say their vows first, and how they chose to plant a tree during their ceremony, symbolizing the growth they’ll see through the years. Morgan’s friend Sawyer did an awesome job officiating over the ceremony, and the couple became Mr. and Mrs. Prier as the sun beamed through the clouds with their family watching in love and support.

After greeting each guest with hugs and high fives, the wedding party boarded the RV and made their way to West Union for the most show-stopping grand entrance! You’ll have to just make your way through all the images to see what their surprise entrance looked like! I’ll give you a hint: the groom is internationally ranked in dirt bike racing! After the entrances, the couple cut their cake and the wedding party found their seats at the head table overlooking the sea of friends and family who joined them in celebration. The DJ did an awesome job spotlighting the key moments and the speeches were all so heartfelt with words of encouragement, memories, and some advice, too! Can you believe all three of the guys stood up and gave a toast? The food was delicious, the cake amazing, and let’s just say… this group knows how to party!  And last but not least, we ended the evening with a some of the most breathtaking portraits as the sun set over their perfect day!

I am so grateful for these two, for the trust in me to document their most special day, for getting to see a glimpse into their lives, and to help tell their love story. I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from The Prier Wedding:
