Paige + Brady | A Midwest Elopement at Wold Farm

This has been such an amazing year of growth both personally and professionally, and I owe so much of that to my amazing clients, friends, and family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your most precious memories, for creating artwork with me, for believing in me and sharing your lives with me… I am so grateful.

While I have been meaning to share this post for a few weeks now, I just kept needing to find time to focus on the words. Finding the words to describe the way this day made me feel, the emotion, the light, the beauty, the love – I just keep finding myself speechless.

When Paige reached out to me about photographing their November wedding in front of their family and the possibility of having their intimate wedding at Wold Farm, I couldn’t wait to show her around the Bin and the Wold Farm to talk details! She came out on a sunny afternoon, and we looked at photo albums, talked through potential weather plans, planned for a quick engagement photo in front of the Elkader Cinema, and walked through the field to find the perfect setting for their prairie ceremony. As we talked and walked, the excitement beamed from Paige and I just couldn’t wait to help her celebrate their wedding day. It all came together so quickly and perfectly!

When the Stramer Wedding Day arrived, we were blessed with a seasonably warm November afternoon. Paige had dropped off her gorgeous dress from Holly’s Bridal, the most elegant silk florals from Elkader Floral shop, and their rings the night before, which allowed me to photograph all of the details in the morning while the Bin was pristine and unoccupied. While Paige and her sisters, daughter, and mom arrived for makeup and to get ready in the Bin, Brady and his dad set up a beautiful wooden arch at the spot where they would officially become Mr. and Mrs. Stramer. Paige’s sisters helped decorate the arch and there was a flutter of excitement and sweet emotion as the couple prepared for their first look.

The couple chose to have a private first look, where they exchanged their own vows. It was so special. After their vows, we took a little drive up to the timber for portraits in front of some of the last fall foliage overlooking the rolling hills. The moments were so sweet and the energy palpable. When we came back to the Bin, the family took time for photos with the couple before the ceremony. As everyone made their way up to the ceremony, the location hand-picked by the bride overlooking pastoral views and timber, the golden sunset completed the backdrop. Paige and Brady’s ceremony was so lovely and personal and officiated beautifully by the Bride’s sister. Paige’s daughter did the most precious reading. There were happy tears, joy, laughter, and the way the wind caught the veil during their first kiss couldn’t have been more picture perfect! It was a breathtaking ceremony.

As the family made their way back down to the Bin for a sparkling toast (Prosecco for the adults and sparkling grape juice for the little one), the couple shared their first dance lit by a beaming sunset and wrapped in love.

If I overused the word “perfect” when telling you about this day, you can see why I had trouble finding the words! There’s just no other way to describe it; it was truly perfection.

And I couldn’t be more excited to share some of my favorite images with you today…
