Stephanie + Gabrielle | A Heartfelt Ceremony at The Barn on Heron Hill
Stephanie + Gabrielle
The Barn on Heron Hill | June 2023
I was so excited to photograph Stephanie and Gabrielle on their gorgeous wedding day at The Barn on Heron Hill this summer!
When Stephanie and Gabrielle reached out over a year ago to inquire about their wedding day, the comfort, connection, and excitement was immediate. After a quick call we got to know each other a bit and I was excited to see the text to send over their contract!
I have a form on my website for wedding photography inquiries. I ask for the date and best way to connect for a consultation. I always like to do a consultation before any contracts are signed because it is so important to me to know that the couple trusts me with not only the style of photography, but also with me as a person, with my gear, that I am able to answer questions and even help customize a collection for them. Most importantly, I want everyone who reserves my photography to feel 1000 percent comfortable and excited with their decision - because booking your wedding photography is a big deal! Not only do I want to be certain you’re going to love the artistic style of your photos, your wedding photographer is with you all day on one of the biggest days of your life, and I like to be one of the biggest cheerleaders for you on that day!
Leading up to Stephanie and Gabrielle’s day we talked to make sure we had the timeline down, that I had their family formal shot list ready to go, and a few artistic shots the couple hoped I’d be able to capture - spoiler alert, their special ideas were beautiful moments and we captured it all!
Steph and Gabby asked to have a first look with each other and with their parents, some of those images were the most beautiful joy-filled images from their day. I also loved their take on the venue, most everyone who gets married at the Barn on Heron Hill has their ceremony on the lawn in front of the barn facing out toward a white gazebo overlooking the fields, the wedding party enters through a massive barndoor gate and down an aisle of stepping stones.. it’s beautiful. However, Stephanie and Gabrielle wanted something a little different. They wanted to get married surrounded by the big beautiful trees in the front lawn of the farmhouse — and it didn’t disappoint! The owners of the venue are absolutely amazing to work with and eager to make sure their couple’s wedding dreams come to life. The wooden pews were moved to the front lawn and a wooden arbor decorated with silky fabric and lush ferns was situated at the end of the aisle.
After we took photos of the details, getting ready and first looks we were able to take the family formals before their heartfelt ceremony. During the ceremony both brides were escorted down the aisle by their fathers. The mothers of the brides both did readings during the sweet ceremony. There was laughter, joy, and happy tears… and just a touch of rain sprinkled them with a little extra luck during the ceremony! The real rain held off until all of the guests were situated in the beautiful rustic barn and it poured throughout their night filled with sentimental toasts, delicious dinner, decadent cake, and dancing! And wow, did this crew know how to get down on the dance floor!
